Synopsis: The landscapes that appear on the screen are the fantasy setting of different novels, the physical reconstruction of places that do not exist except in the imagination. Literature can influence our views, the ways in which we experience our surroundings and it can modify reality. We always travel at various levels like bodies in the physical space or like ideas. Traveling we bring with us everything that we have seen, that has happened, that has been read.
The selection of the novels follows my personal taste, they represent in my opinion some places worth visiting. The titles are in the original language of the books.The title of the video “I was here” refers to this somewhat naive practice of capturing our own presence in a place, for instance by taking a picture in front of a monument or an important building, or by writing our own name on a wall, or carving it on the bark of a tree, or drawing it on the sand of a beach.
